Just like the patterns of nature, woman have intrinsic rhythm in our lives, too; and when we are aligned, our bodies naturally know what we need to feel our best. There are times for busy work, for play, and for rest. In order for us to feel our best, it's key to balance the activities and the rest. In today's modern world the need for rest is more important than ever!
Resting is essential for optimal wellness, performance, and recovery.
Woman literally operate on a 28 day cycle like the moon. How cool is that? There are four phases: Menstrual, Follicular, Ovulation, and Luteal. It's so important to listen to our bodies and what they need during these times. If you don't track your cycle, I highly recommend you begin and start learning to listen to your body. You will be much more productive during your follicular and ovulation phases than your luteal or menstrual phases.
Prioritize rest during your luteal and menstrual phases.
When we rest, our body is given time to recuperate from the stress of our lives, and healing happens on a cellular level. In addition to the physical benefits of healing, rest helps to reduce stress on all systems of the body, supporting mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being as well. When you literally "Go with the flow..." you are choosing the path of least resistance and will find life to be much more simpler.
Rest helps to balance hormones, support the immune system, and reduce inflammation in the body.
Taking time to relax and unwind can also be beneficial for calming the mind, enhancing creativity, and bringing peace into our lives. You must note that our environment highly affects our ability to rest. In today's increasingly high-tech world, we are constantly being bombarded by media, information, lights, sounds, EMF's, wi-fi, and energy waves making rest even more important on multiple levels.

How to Embrace Rest...
Place phone on Do Not Disturb.
Take a nap.
One Screen at a Time.
Go to bed early.
Sleep in late.
Take a hot shower.
Wear favorite clothes.
Enjoy delicious and healthy foods.
Read a book.
Journal.
Look at the clouds.
Go for a walk.
Drink Tea.
Play music.
Dance.
Stretch.
Watch the sunset.
Hugs.
Look at the stars.
REPEAT!
